When our existing internal ticketing and knowledge management system couldn't meet complex user demands, we initiated a full redesign. By meticulously re-engineering the Information Architecture, System Design, and logic, we created a more personalized and intuitive product. This successfully reduced user effort and improved their overall experience and satisfaction.

Key Outcomes:

  • Achieved a 4.50 System Usability Score.

  • Conducted 22 user interviews across 5 continents to guide design.

  • Eliminated 10+ unrequired pages, reducing clicks and effort

Key Challenges & Learnings:

  • Adapting to Diverse Needs: Realized during later testing that varied user cases required a broader design approach than initially planned.

  • Overcoming Existing Habits: Users' 1.5 years of experience with the old tool meant designing within constraints to minimize frustration.

  • Stakeholder Navigation: Successfully managed differing viewpoints from multiple collaborating teams.

Initially aiming to modernize the website's visual design, this project evolved into a comprehensive UX overhaul, standardizing layouts and elements for improved predictability. This ultimately created unique user journeys, significantly reducing visual and motor load, and enhanced accessibility through improved component-level design.

The project commenced with a UX audit presented to the Marketing team, which identified key issues including hierarchical problems, brand inconsistency, excessive clicks, customer journey bottlenecks, and heuristic failures. This spurred a crucial workshop focused on mapping the consumer funnel and pinpointing the website's role within the broader customer experience.

This deeper understanding led our two-member UX team to adopt an atomic design approach to tackle the complex system. Over the year-long journey, we gained valuable insights, notably recognizing that a design system is a living entity requiring continuous care and research to remain effective.

Rethinking our 'Lead to Cash' software, we streamlined a complex, multi-team process, crucially reducing 27 redundant data points. Our redesign focused on alleviating the manual data entry burden on time-pressed Executive Assistants (EAs) and enhancing integration between various software systems for a more intuitive workflow, particularly for EAs and accountants.

Co-designed with technology, accounting, and EA teams, the project prioritized core system simplification over aesthetics. Key challenges included discerning genuinely essential data from perceived clutter—where seemingly useless fields sparked vital conversations—and ensuring clarity in how inter-office costing, revenues, and primary consultant responsibilities were represented in the system.

UX-Driven LMS Redesign for Engaging Mature, Busy Consultants

To support our organization's digital transformation, we recreated our Learning Management System (LMS). Our goal was an engaging, equitable, and blended e-learning experience tailored to busy consultants, predominantly over 40.

Key UX challenges included driving active participation beyond passive consumption, clearly differentiating diverse learning modes (asynchronous, synchronous, live events), and ensuring the platform was intuitive and motivating for this specific demographic.

Through an iterative design process with constant user feedback, we delivered clear navigational cues for various learning formats and a streamlined, accessible interface. This fostered an easier, more interesting, and self-driven learning journey for our consultants.

At Egon Zehnder, I had the privilege of working on some of their most esteemed intellectual properties, shaping the writing and reports of industry experts. It was a truly rewarding experience. While visual design is sometimes undervalued in the UX field, it's crucial to remember that we're humans designing for other humans.
A well-crafted visual design isn't just about aesthetics—it evokes emotions, sparks
curiosity, and engages interest.

When visual elements successfully convey messages and guide users through their journey, they enhance the overall user experience. This interplay of visuals and usability is where my work as a UX designer shines. In a world where written words can sometimes fall flat, it takes real commitment and hard work to bring these words to life through thoughtful visual design. This is what makes my role both challenging and fulfilling.
